Development and Story Producer
David Jammy is a South African media producer who in 2008 relocated to New York to launch a start-up production and distribution venture for the Non Profit Organization, the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ). Since arriving in New York, amongst other projects, he initiated development on a scripted drama series, The Hague, with Tom Fontana (St Elsewhere, Homicide, Oz) and Eric Overmyer (Homicide, The Wire, Tremé). Prior to arriving in New York, Jammy spent 15 years building one of South Africa’s premier production houses, Curious Pictures (www.curious.co.za) producing thousands of hours of content, and garnering numerous domestic and international awards. Jammy’s producing experience includes multiple television series (factual and drama); reality television; a daily soap-opera; feature films; educational media; corporate communications; commercials, and interactive media campaigns. He has extensive experience in international co-productions and has worked with multiple broadcasters internationally. Jammy spent 5 years on the National Executive of the Independent Producer's Organization of South Africa. Jammy holds an LLB from Wits University, and a Masters Degree in Cinema Studies from New York University.
